Students Across the Discipline Demonstrate their Leadership Potential through National Competitions
Finance and economics students competed and received special commendations in the Fed Challenge during the past two years. Last year, the team was a state finalist and the year prior they won both the Commonwealth and regional competition and traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the national competition.
Marketing students under the direction of direct marketing expert Dr. Lisa Spiller have consistently won or placed in the Direct Marketing Association of Washington Gold MAXI Award and the Direct Marketing Association/Direct Marketing Educational Foundation’s Gold Collegiate ECHO Award during the past six years!
Teams from CNU’s chapter of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) have conducted economic analysis, marketing and strategic planning research for clients claiming multiple awards during the past five years.
Through the Small Business Institute, the capstone course for all management majors, students participate in a field-based consulting experience. Projects from this course have consistently won several national awards including First Place Undergraduate “Best Specialized Case” four out of the last five years and Showcase (First Place) “Best Comprehensive Case” in 2006-2007.
