Members of the economics faculty have excelled both academically and practically. In addition to providing excellent classroom instruction and conducting significant research, some professors have advised foreign governments, lending a strong international orientation to the program.
This field has a broad range of applications including business, public policy, international affairs, financial services, government, statistics, education and consulting. Those with an economics undergraduate degree are positioned well for graduate school, particularly law school.
Economics majors may elect to join the Economics and Finance Club or compete in the national Fed Challenge, sponsored by the Federal Reserve. The Economics Honor Society taps students annually for membership based on academic performance. |
