Economics @ CNU

Called the “imperialist” of social sciences, economics is the study of production, distribution and consumption of scarce resources. The economics curriculum teaches students to analyze choices such as those made by public policy makers, business managers and consumers. Studying economics provides the background for simplifying complex situations and predicting the outcomes of decisions.

Through economics you will understand the cause and effect of decisions – even everyday choices in the brand of products you buy – helping to clarify your values and moral code. Studying economics in a liberal arts environment produces a well-rounded graduate with excellent career opportunities.
Want to help end world poverty? Advise the Federal Reserve? Assist with European monetary integration? Go to law school? Then a degree in economics might be just right for you !
Students may opt to work closely with their professors on research projects, such as how the Federal Reserve affects interest rates and GDP in the U.S. and Canada. They may also travel to Europe with faculty members to meet with high-ranking European Union officials and lobbyists.
