General Richard Hawley, USAF, Retired, is currently a consultant to the defense industry and the Department of Defense. General Hawley served in the United States Air Force for 35 years and retired as the commander of Air Combat Command at Langley AFB, Virginia in 1999. He serves on the Boards of Astronautics Corporation of America, DYNCORP International, McNeil Technologies, Enterprise Electronics Corporation, Continental Electronics Corporation and Defense Forcasts International, as well as the advisory board of Veritas Capital. He and his wife Mary Ellen live in Newport News. They have three children, Christopher, a computer security consultant who resides in Atlanta, Georgia; Jared (gone but not forgotten) and Richard, a computer science engineer who graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2002.
