Upon retiring from a successful 25 year career as an orthopaedic surgeon, Chip began a new career as a registered financial representative and consultant on the healthcare industry and individual “financial wellness and fitness.”

Born and raised in New Jersey, Chip received his education at Princeton University, the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. He began his orthopaedic surgery practice in Newport News in 1982 and founded Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Specialists of Hampton Roads in 1990. He has been recognized regionally and nationally for innovations in hip and knee surgery as well as entrepreneurship in the business of medicine.

Chip’s commitment to sharing his gifts and experience with the community is evident in his civic activities. He has served on special state legislative committees and mayor’s committees dealing with healthcare issues, small business development and physician recruitment. Education is important to him and he has served as area chairman of the Princeton Alumni Schools Committee, Board of Visitors at Christopher Newport University (presiding as vice-rector and rector), founding chairman of the board of Hampton Roads Country Day School, and serving on the boards of Trinity Lutheran School and Hampton Roads Academy. Chip also serves on both the corporate Board of Directors and Foundation boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula.

An advocate of all types of athletic activities, Chip has coached youth soccer, basketball and softball. He has served as team physician to the CNU football Captains, Peninsula Pilots, Peninsula Roadsters and was instrumental in the development of the Trieshmann Fitness Pavilion at CNU.
